Fastest Charging Station in the World

Within the development of NEOM in Saudi Arabia a containerized Rapid EV Charging Station has been installed. Utilizing the Graphene Encapsulated charging unit as well as the Encap Mega pack, providing the fastest charging station in the world. 

Extreme Temperature Performance

2019 a 10 kWh – 48v system was installed in a hut located in the summit of Punta Gnifetti on Monte Rosa in the Italian Alps. At 14,941 ft above sea level, this is the highest building in Europe and has been open since 1893 as a research facilitiy and high altitude medicine.

 

Prior to the installation the site used Lead Acid Batteries as a means to store solar power. Due to the temperatures dropping below -37 C the batteries have to be replaced regularly. 

 

The 10 kWh system has been operational since 2019 and has required zero maintenance or replacement.

Off-Grid Solar Site, UAE

a 4.5 kWDC, 48 v system was installed in the UAE in partnership with Etisalat Telecom. 

 

3 7.1 kWh, 48 VDc Encap modules were deployed (21.3 kWh) to be charged and discharged up to 4 times per day. 

 

The results of the study resulted in great OPEX savings.

High Voltage UPS Battery replacement.

Initial installation was a VRLA 2V, 192 Cell – 600 AH system, requiring 4.28 square meters of floor space, with a floor load of 3000 km/sq m and an installation time of 5 days. 

 

This system was replaced with an Encap 8 – 7.1 kWh 4C systems requiring 0.82 square meters, a floor load weight of 1300 kg-sq m and an installation time of only 4 hours. 

 

BENEFITS – 85% reduction in floor space, quick installation, longer life and warranty, no degradation or maintenance required and no heating or cooling systems needed.

WHAT IS ENCAP STORAGE?

It is electrostatic storage, which has long life, fast charging, non-degrading, safe, fully recyclable and biodegradable attributes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENCAP STORAGE AND SUPERCAPS?

Encap storage is used for energy storage applications, like batteries, i.e. where large amount of energy are deliverd over long periods of time. Applications such as Telecom Towers, Residential Backup, Grid Storage, EV Charging Stations, Microgrids etc.

Supercaps, on the other hand, are used for power applications, i.e. where short bursts of energy are delivered for short periods of time. Applications like cranking or voltage support.

HOW DOES ENCAP STORAGE BEHAVE LIKE A BATTERY?

Algorithm-based control electronics control encapsulated capacitor cell behavior, specifically, (1) Active cell balancing when connected in series and parallel; (2) Output of a flat discharge curve; (3) Rate of self-discharge.

IS THE ENCAP CELL AN LI-ION/SUPERCAP HYBRID OR LTO OR SOME OTHER FORM OF CHEMICAL BATTERY/SUPERCAP HYBRID?

No, it is not a hybrid nor is it LTO. The Encap cell uses encapsulated capacitor technology.
